  4. I like this! Haven't had time to update MY library's page yet, but I'll let y'all see it. I'm working on another more streamlined version of this website, but this was my first crack at it. Just as Beth said above, it's a work in progress.

  7. This is a great idea! Look at us using Web 2.0 tools. I'll have to make sure Tim Holt knows.

Here's my work in progress, too:

  9. Wow! Ask and ye shall receive! That was fast. Thanks so much for providing this for us. We are hoping to create a repository of lessons that worked, programming idea, and anything else we can share with each other. Laurie at Tippin is doing a great activity and Group 9 was hoping to see it here.

  10. This IS great! It's not a lesson, but I did want to share. I took all last week off for my Capstone and had Becca Handley sub for me. When I got back, everyone was singing her praises! So if you need an excellent library sub, call her, she's on the list.

  11. I second Jocelyn's compliment of Becca Handley as a sub - she's great! And congrats to Jocelyn on surviving Capstone week. Thanks to Kayla for starting this blog.

  12. Readfortherecord.com. Register and record how many kids hear The Very Hungry Caterpillar on October 8th. Jump Start is trying to reach 1 million kids. My PK and K said they would read. Take a look.

  14. Hello, everyone. I'm working with my parents for the Laura Bush grant Vilas received this past year, and one of the websites that I've frequented is a great one for parents, teachers, AND librarians. Check out Reading Rockets!

  15. At the Bond website (bond.episd.org), right under the picture of the school, click on the link that says, "Education Matters: Interview with Mrs. Dunn". Channel 9 was scrounging for a piece for "Education Matters", my principal asked what I was doing in the library that week, they came the next day at 2:30 in the afternoon. I look a little worn out, I think, but it was good exposure for the Bluebonnet program.

  24. Does anyone have some great book review sites that are student friendly (elementary level)? I would love the students to be able to get on and read what other students their age are reading.
    Thanks a bunch!

  25. Well, here it goes ... I am joining the ranks of bloggers here. As several of the others, our web page is still very much "in progress". It should improve as we have a teacher who put hers together in one afternoon so really knows what she is doing with Google Sites. She is willing to help me. I should be able to work with the site better as time goes on.

Congrats to all who are using this blog.

  26. Hello Everyone,
As I’m making my order for next year’s periodicals, I am having some trouble trying to decide just what to order. The Mailbox and Teacher’s Helper subscriptions seem to be an issue, and I would love to have some options for the teachers. Anyone have any other periodical titles that their teachers like? I know the copyright challenge will always be there. How about comics? I currently get Scooby-Doo, Looney-Tunes, and Archie. They don’t fly off the shelves like Nintendo Power or Sports Illustrated do. Any suggestions would be lovely!
    Thanks- Jen @ Zach White

  27. Hello everyone,
Does anyone use the Smart Board in their library? If so, what lessons do you use the SB? I am trying to decide if I could fit it in- I think it would be great, but I have never used one before...*gasp*...I know!
    Have a good one!
